    FAQs

    Recommended for

    FOR DRY OR MATURE SKIN

Carrier oil of Pumpkin seeds is an excellent anti-aging, especially thanks to its high content of polyphenols with antioxidant activity. Its molecules capture the free radicals that cause wrinkles and cellular aging. Rich in linoleic acid, this oil will also promote skin regeneration, in addition to being very nourishing.

IN THE CASE OF DULL HAIR, HAIR LOSS, BRITTLE HAIR

Pumpkin seed oil will deeply nourish the hair fiber to repair, maintain and strengthen it. It will soften, soften and strengthen the hair, so that they become more resistant to external aggressions.

    IN CASE OF PROSTATIC DISORDERS
Pumpkin seed oil is traditionally recommended in the prevention of benign hypertrophy of the prostate (adenoma). A study published in the Journal of Medicinal Food evaluated its effect on testosterone-induced prostate hyperplasia in animals. Hyperplasia was caused by subcutaneous administration of testosterone (0.3 mg/100 g body weight) for 20 days. Whereas, pumpkin seed oil (2.0 and 4.0 mg/100 g body weight) was administered orally for 20 days to half of the rats. Neither testosterone nor squash seed oil resulted in weight gain in the rats. Testosterone caused a significant increase in prostate size but the protective effect of pumpkin seed oil was, on the other hand, very significant at the higher dose of pumpkin seed oil (4 mg/100 g) which is equivalent in humans to a dose of 3 grams per day. This study concluded that pumpkin seed oil has a preventive benefit in inhibiting testosterone-induced prostate hyperplasia. Another study published in “Urologia Internationalis” even obtained regression of the markers of prostatic hypertrophy. Pumpkin seed oil is therefore highly recommended for the prevention of prostate adenoma, well before the surgical stage of the prostate.

    AGAINST INTESTINAL WORMS

Pumpkin seed oil seems to benefit from an anthelmintic property, that is a vermifuge activity to eliminate the parasites present in the digestive system. This property is said to be due to its cucurbitine composition. It is still present in the oil in a small percentage compared to the seed, so this effect should be nuanced and confirmed with other studies.

    Benefits

    MAIN PROPERTIES

anti-inflammatory prostatic: the greatest property that we recognize Pumpkin Seed oil on health, is its action on the prostate. Scientific studies have shown that sterols and carotenoids combat enlarged prostate. In addition, the richness of unsaturated fatty acids in the oil gives it an anti-inflammatory action to fight prostatitis and urinary tract infections.

anti-caries: Pumpkin seed oil promotes bone calcification. Thus, it helps to avoid tooth decalcification, which is responsible for caries.
skin regenerating: Pumpkin seed oil is rich in essential fatty acids, elements that give flexibility and elasticity to the skin. In addition, this vegetable oil contains vitamin E, a natural antioxidant.

nourishing: rich in fatty acids and vitamins, the oil from Pumpkin seeds nourishes skin and hair to make them softer, more flexible. It also promotes hair growth.

hypocholesterolemic, cardiovascular protector: vegetable oil of Pumpkin Seeds is a particularly rich oil in omega 6, essential fatty acids for the body and only provided through food. They confer nutritional interests on condition of respecting an omega 6/omega 3 ratio of 6 to 1.

    Details

The oil extracted from the seeds of the pumpkin, which constitute the seeds of this fruit, has widely recognized properties on health and especially on male urinary comfort. Rich in phytosterols, it has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the prostate and participates in good urinary function. Pumpkin seed is one of the few active ingredients that the WHO (World Health Organization) has recognized as useful for its action on the discomfort associated with an enlarged prostate. It is therefore a major ally to improve urinary and prostatic comfort, from the first signs of discomfort.

    DEFINITION OF PUMPKIN PEPIN OIL
Pumpkin seed oil (Cucurbita pepo), also called pumpkin seed oil, belongs to the order of Cucurbitales, to the family Cucurbitaceae, and to the genus Cucurbita. The species Cucurbita pepo includes several subspecies and is divided into six varieties that differ in the color of their fruits and whose representatives are many squash including zucchini, pumpkin, pastry etc.

    HISTORY OF PUMPKIN SEED OIL
Squash is native to America. Archaeological excavations have shown that the Mexicans cultivated them 8,000 or 10,000 years ago. Today, they are grown in Asia, Europe and the Americas when the climate is warm or temperate and they also grow wild in Africa. The squash reached France and the British Islands only in the 17th century, and Russia only in the 19th century. It has existed in the Balkans, Turkey and Italy since the 16th century. Squash is grown mainly in Austria, Hungary and Mexico for its seeds. The variety Cucurbita pepo is especially interesting in medicine for its oil.

    APPEARANCE OF PUMPKIN PEPIN OIL
The pumpkin is an annual herbaceous plant whose long, creeping stems end in large yellow flowers. Its leaves are divided into 5 lobes, more or less distinct, and are covered with stiff hairs. The fruit is a globose berry, often bulky, containing a flesh in which the seeds are mixed with the pulp. The seed is flattened and ovoid, white to greenish in colour, ending with a neck at one end. The part used to make pumpkin seed oil is dry seed.

    COMPOSITION OF CUCURBITA PEPO
mainly oil, 30-53%, composed of palmitic, stearic and oleic acids (15-48%), linoleic (35-68%), tocopherols, sterols, squalenes. Squash is also rich in carotenoids (zeaxanthin, lutein, β-carotene), alcohols (cucurbitol, polyalcohol, myo-inositol), carbonic acids, amino acids (GABA, ethylasparagine, citrulline and cucurbitine). We can also note the presence of carbohydrates (6 to 10%), proteins (albumin, globulin) and minerals (4 to 5%): phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, manganese and selenium.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PUMPKIN PEPIN OIL
The seeds are known for their anti-helminthic (action against tænia and oxyurs) and antichistosomiale (tropical parasitic disease) properties either in the form of dry extracts, or consumed directly. This property is due to the action of cucurbitine.

Cucurbita pepo seeds have also been used in traditional medicine as food supplements for their antioxidant properties. It helps to normalize the content of glutathione in the blood. It can therefore be an important asset in cardiovascular balance.

They also have the ability to improve the low urinary tract symptoms inherent in benign prostatic hypertrophy syndrome, and have antiandrogenic activity (decreased activity of androgen hormones). Several studies in humans have shown beneficial effects of supplementation with pumpkin seed oil on improving quality of life, a reduction in IPSS (International Prostate Symptom Score), and a decrease in the level of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) in the prostate tissue. A decrease in PSA (prostate specific antigen), a glycoprotein produced by the prostate glands, could also be observed quickly after taking pumpkin seed oil. An increase in PSA is often associated with prostate disease. Its use is also interesting in various disorders of urination (dysuria, pollakiuria, irritable or neurotonic bladder) in men and women.
