    SUNBURN

The oil macerate of Calendula is widely recognized for its anti-inflammatory properties. To prove this, a study on the supercritical CO2 extraction of calendula flowers was conducted to isolate some of its components. It turns out that lipophilic components, thus found in the maceration oil, are responsible for this property: these are faradiols. This anti-inflammatory property allows the oil macerate of Calendula to relieve redness, heat sensations and pain from sunburn or mild burns. The maceration oil allows it to nourish the skin in depth to promote a faster repair.

    SKIN ALLERGY

The oil macerate of Calendula is not strictly anti-allergic, it will not act directly against the release of histamine, but it will help to calm the irritations caused by skin allergies through its soothing and antiinflammatory caused by its active ingredients. It can be used in case of pruritus or hives to calm the skin.

    DIAPER RASH

Diaper rash is, like sunburn or burning, an inflammatory reaction of the skin. Although the origin of the problem is different, the oil macerate of Calendula allows to act on the inflammation to calm it, soothe the skin and soften it. Its fatty acid composition also helps to regenerate skin tissue and repair the skin.

    - Softening and softening, it brings softness and elasticity to the skin.

    Details

Calendula is found in India, but also in Asia and Europe. In France it grows in the Mediterranean region. It can be found in the wild, or grown in gardens. It is found under the name of arvensis, or more commonly herbage, field.

It is an annual herbaceous plant. Measuring 40 to 60 cm tall, it is recognized by its erect stem with fairly thick light green leaves and yellow capils. Its petals are arranged in single or double crown around a tube heart.
It blooms in spring, repels aphids and easily adapts to temperate climates.

    WHAT IS CALENDULA OIL MACERATE?

An oily macerate is obtained by a very special process. This is a technique to extract the active ingredients from plants through an infusion of oil.
A chemical reaction is created: the oil becomes a support on which the properties of the plant come to cling, as well as its perfume and taste.

To obtain the oil macerate of calendula from Laboratoires Corail, we opt for a slow solar maceration (3 weeks to 4 months) of organic calendula flowers in organic oleic sunflower oil.

This maceration with the gentle heat, thanks to sunlight, allows to preserve all the active ingredients, and to release pigments, aromatics and virtues.

Unfortunately, to increase their yield, many processing laboratories obtain this oily macerate by heating it for a few hours at high temperature. This saves time at the expense of quality. This process "breaks" many molecules and destroys most vitamins and virtues.
