Plus une cire liquide qu'une huile, le jojoba a une grande affinité avec absolument tous les types de peau et de cheveux. Il les nourrit, les régule, les sublime, les protège de la déshydratation et les adoucit. Avec un toucher sec, agréable et stable, il est considéré comme l'huile « idéale » dans les cosmétiques et les massages. Dans la fabrication de savon, s'il améliore la longévité du savon, il est « doux » et ne produit pas de mousse, c'est pourquoi on ne l'utilise généralement que jusqu'à 10 %.
