    Benefits

THE BENEFITS OF SESAME OIL FOR THE BODY
Sesame oil, especially thanks to its beneficial compounds like sesamin and sesamol, is known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which makes it effective in reducing atherosclerosis and the risk of cardiovascular disease. Considering the side effects of statins, currently recommended treatment for atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases because it helps to reduce plaque buildup in blood vessels, Many studies have focused on the benefits of sesame oil, a natural alternative to statins.

Sesame oil has other positive effects on the body, such as reducing oxidative stress and liver damage, as well as lowering cholesterol levels. It can also influence the gene regulation involved in the synthesis of cholesterol and fatty acids.

SESAME OIL FOR A HEALTHY HEART
Sesame seed oil, low in saturated fat and rich in polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, is an excellent cooking method for a diet that supports good cardiovascular health. Antioxidants in sesame seed oil, such as sesamolin, sesamolin and sesamolinol, protect fats from oxidation. Sesaminol keeps "bad" cholesterol (low-density lipoproteins) at a low level, which prevents atherosclerosis. Sesamin also helps maintain normal blood pressure. It helps regulate the body’s immune and autoimmune system, inhibiting regulatory compounds that cause inflammation, coagulation and other immune imbalances contributing to disorders such as heart disease.

    FACE - BODY - HAIR
Its nutrients are beneficial when used in the kitchen, but sesame oil also works wonders in cosmetics or as part of massages. Applied pure or integrated into a cosmetic treatment, sesame vegetable oil nourishes, softens and regenerates the skin. It also has antioxidant properties, protects the skin from external aggressions and UV rays, and helps to reduce skin spots.

    Details

THE HISTORY OF SESAME OIL THROUGH THE AGES
Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) is considered one of the oldest crops. Sesame, from the family of Pedaliaceae, was first mentioned as a culture in Babylonia and Assyria more than 4,000 years ago. Sesame seeds were reportedly introduced into India and Burma from Africa and the Middle East. China and Japan are the main consumers of sesame seeds, imported from the Middle East between 500 and 700 BC. In the United States, sesame was introduced by slaves from Africa in the 17th century.

SESAME OIL, ONE OF THE MOST STABLE ON THE MARKET
Sesame has a higher oil content (about 50%) than most other known oilseeds, although its production is much lower than that of the main oilseeds such as soybean or rapeseed. Sesame oil is generally considered to be a high quality, high price oil. And for good reason, it is one of the most stable edible oils on the market. The presence of lignans, a type of natural antioxidants, explains both the superior stability of sesame oil and the beneficial physiological effects of sesame.

As a reminder, stable oil means that it has the ability to resist oxidation and rancidity over an extended period of time, allowing it to retain its quality, taste and nutritional properties for a long shelf life. Oxidation of oils occurs when the unsaturated fatty acids they contain react with oxygen in the air, resulting in undesirable changes in taste, smell and nutritional value. These changes can also produce substances that are harmful to health. Thus, this oil is particularly recommended for frying. Its critical point is 232°C for refined oil and 177°C for virgin oil.

HOW IS SESAME PROCESSED INTO OIL?
Some wild sesame species are grown in small areas in Africa, India or Sri Lanka and may contribute to favourable agronomic characteristics such as disease resistance, pests and drought when used in plant breeding. Traditionally, in Asia, sesame oil is obtained by pressing the roasted sesame seeds and is consumed as a naturally flavored oil without refining. In the western world, sesame oil is extracted using a mechanical press in several stages and either virgin oil or refined oil is used for dressings. After the oil is extracted, the remaining sesame meal contains a high quality protein suitable for human consumption as well as animal feed. It is also a good source of water-soluble antioxidants.
